Mas

Further along the road towards Ubud is the village of Mas, which is famous for woodcarving and offers a myriad of wooden items. The road through it is solidly lined with craft shops and tourists are welcome to drop in and see the carvers at work. 

Mas also play a historical significance to Bali's history as it was here that the great priest Nirartha had his hermitage in the Pura Taman Pule.
